Being, Belonging & Becoming (BBB)
Being, Belonging & Becoming – The Early Years Framework (EYLF) describes the principles, practices and outcomes that support and enhance young children’s learning from birth to five years of age, as well as their transition to school.
The framework is a key component of the National Quality Framework for early childhood education and care. The EYLF was developed by the Australian and state and territory governments with input from the early childhood sector and early childhood academics. It has incorporated feedback from a consultation process, including two national symposiums, national public consultation forums, focus groups, an online forum and case-study trials.
The framework offers a vision where ‘all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life’. It has been designed so that early childhood services will be able to develop their own strategies to implement its objectives.
MY Time Our Place
The My Time Our Place – Framework for School Age Care in Australia, helps care services to develop opportunities for school aged children to participate in leisure and play-based activities that respond to their needs, interests and choices.
My Time, Our Place is part of the Australian Government’s National Quality Framework which is about ensuring children receive a high standard of education and care.
It is one part of the picture that will help Australia realise the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) vision that will see ‘all children have the best start in life to create a better future for themselves and for the nation’.
